The WakeVision™ System
DOWNLOAD THE PDF WakeVision is the implementation of up to four (4) video cameras being installed on the tower system (or other location) of a competition towboat, then connecting them to an on-board pc-based digital video recording system (DVR) with multi media capability
The camera(s) we plan on eventually utilizing can be controlled by either a mounted controller located on dash or steering wheel, the mini-keyboard included with the system, using the Touch screen (optional), or a handheld remote controller that comes with the camera. The camera we are using now in the prototype is mounted to Trakker Camera mount, a mechanical device that tracks the rider (skier, etc…) as he/she moves from side to side using the rope as a guide
The camera is connected directly to the DVR for the purpose of digitally recording all activity going on board or behind the boat. It is viewed live on a 12.1” transflective sunlight readable marine-grade LCD monitor that is installed where the wide-angle rear view mirror is now located. It can also be viewed remotely via the internet (live streaming)
The original conception of this idea was to design a recording system specifically for use on competition towboats (wake boats and ski boats). We now realize it can be utilized for a multitude of other applications on a wide variety of water vessels
Applications for the WakeVision System
Instructional. You can record competition stunts, tricks, and/or maneuvers for viewing immediately or at a later time; with instructors' help to improve on abilities and correct inconsistencies with performance ultimately enhancing the competitors ability to perform at the highest level.
Security/Surveillance. Can be programmed to turn on camera, lights, and a siren when motion is detected. Can alert owner on PDA or via email. Remote streaming live visual of the boat via the internet. Interactive.
Interactive. WakeVision videos can be posted on www.wakevision.com for others to see and view like on ‘YouTube’ and other video posting sites, as well as ending and receiving email
Safety. It can serve as a safety device. The driver of the boat can view clearly the wake boarder, skier, dock, or any other obstruction or structure behind the boat without an on-board spotter; on the LCD video screen mounted on the dash in full color and view
Entertainment. For viewing DVDs, TV, playing MP3 or CDs, and other media along with instant playback of the videos being recorded at the time as well as playing digital music thru the boat’s existing sound system replacing the multitude of separate components now providing these applications HOW MUCH WOULD ALL THIS BE WORTH?
