About WakeVision™
WakeVision™ Systems and WakeVision.com were originally conceptualized in early 2007. The principle owners are Jeffrey and Karen Perdue, of Orlando Florida. As long-term residents of Orlando and long-time lakefront homeowners (Lake Holden), they have spent many hours on the water watching the wake boarding enthusiast grow from a scant few, to over populating the waterways in many cases. Growing up in Florida, Jeff was well aware of the recreational value water sports can provide the entire family. He has participated in many of them while growing up on the west coast of Florida.
The idea was first conceived when Jeff’s son Cooper was wake skating one day and observed several wake board boats with a third person on board recording video of ‘riders’ while they attempted new tricks and made practice runs. The first thought was simply this… “There has got to be an better way…” a better way than having a third party recording the events with a hand-held camera... a better way to use and access the recording for training and instructional purposes... a better way to permanently and easily record every event on the water for additional purposes such as entertainment.
Believing the technology had to be available, Jeff set out on a quest to invent and design the perfect recording system for all marine applications, especially events taking place on the wake. He was eventually able to integrate existing components into a one-of-a-kind digital video recording system with multiple applications, expanding on the original concept (patent pending). The first prototype was designed, developed and tested in early 2008. It is currently in the final testing phase of the end product. We expect the finished product to be on the market by spring 2009, when we plan to launch the new product with the support of a major competition towboat manufacturer.
As a compliment to this innovative system, we have developed the website WakeVision.com, an interactive website designed for everyone and anyone associated with or interested in, the wake board phenomenon sweeping the world, as well as many other popular water sports like skiing and wake skating. The website gives WakeVision Systems’ owners a place to post videos, and participate in a community website consisting of others who are interested in wake boarding and other water sports. This website is expected to be fully operational by Jan 1, 2009.
